Alfred Hall III

Happy heavenly birthday to Mr. Alfred Hall, III; Today would have been his 65th birthday.  He was known as a dedicated steward who selflessly served his community by providing scholarships and leadership to those who needed guidance. He believed that education was the key to success. Mr. Hall made a life’s work of encouraging the next generation to set their sights beyond the glass ceilings of the past by means of higher education. He took the time to mentor young families to help put them on the path to homeownership. He also offered affordable housing to his community of West Shreveport.

The Alfred Hall, III Foundation was organized in 2008 with an effort to sustain the philanthropic legacy of Alfred Hall, III. They have provided thousands of dollars in scholarships to high school and college students.

The Honorarium


The Alfred Hall, III Foundation will celebrate its 10-year anniversary during their upcoming annual scholarship gala! This year’s inspirational keynote will be delivered by Physician and Amazon Best Selling Author, Dr. KaNisha L. Hall.


The Hall family extends the invitation for the community to attend their 10th Annual Scholarship Gala on Saturday, April 21, 2018.  The event will be held at Hilton Shreveport located at 104 Market St Shreveport, LA 71102 from 7:00 pm to 11:30 pm.  During the honorary program, a special group of extraordinary leaders and businesses based in the Shreveport, Louisiana area who have shown admirable contributions and dedication to their community will be awarded as “Community Champions”. Among the honorees are Louisiana State Representative Barbara Norton; Mike and Tracey Landry, founders of TM Landry College prep; Pastor James E. Green of Union Mission Baptist Church; Marco French, principal of Queensboro Elementary School, Jessica Hall and more. The foundation will also recognize former scholarship recipients and the 2018 scholarship awardees.

What does it mean to be fierce?


Being fierce is more about confidence than what you look like on the outside; it comes from within. Being fierce means changing the narrative that women don’t work well together and women of color carry baggage and are difficult to work with.  It’s about knocking down walls when doors are closed and windows are locked.  It’s about having a vision, a goal, a dream, and not letting any person, place, or thing get in your way.  It’s about creating lanes for the women that are coming behind you.  Being fierce is being transparent and sharing your testimony knowing that through your heartache, tears, and suffering other women can be healed. Being fierce is understanding where your help and strength comes from and leaning on God for everything (every decision, every step, every idea)…
