Thinking back to over a decade ago, I can remember riding an emotional rollercoaster post high school graduation.  It was time for me to leave the comfort of my small hometown to begin a new life as a Freshman at Grambling State University.  When it’s your time to grow up, there’s no looking back and there’s not much room for error.  Like many of us, I received parting advice from my mentors, but I could have avoided many of my life’s pitfalls if someone had just kept it 100% real with me from the start.  The book, “The Fierce Female’s Guide to College Life and Beyond” is a game changer.  It resonates with me because it was written by my fellow Grambling State University alumna, C.A.C.H.

The Fierce Female’s Guide to College Life and Beyond gives real-life insight on college life and it also extends to help young women create a roadmap that will help them build purposeful lives afterward.   She submits to her own transparency to share stories from her time of matriculation by revealing lessons that young women simply cannot learn in a textbook.

The book touches on prayer, knowing when to ask for help, converting mistakes into lessons learned, being punctual, present and prepared, building healthy relationships, embracing individuality, setting goals, effective communication, budgeting, and overall health.

Christy-Ann C. Hamlin “C.A.C.H.” a published writer, author, and motivational speaker from Grambling, Louisiana.  She holds a BS in Computer Information Systems and an MBA from Webster University. Although writing is her true passion, mentorship is her purpose. She is committed to helping others uncover and reach extraordinary goals.  According to C.A.C.H, the undergraduate years shape and mold individuals into the people (mothers, executives, entrepreneurs) that they will become.  C.A.C.H. is further dedicated to inspiring, uplifting, and motivating other women to reach their full potential.
