Fred L’Jai Robinson, the former lead singer of Motown Records R&B group, Profyle is mostly known for his expressive vocal strength on the group’s hit single, “Liar“. Liar peaked at number one on the US R&B chart and at number fourteen on the US Pop Chart in 2000.

During this interview with, L’Jai shares intimate details about life before and after his record deal with Motown Records. He has spent the last few years performing with the successful show band, Front Cover. They perform at venues across the country. According to L’Jai, performing with the band has helped him to become a better musician. He also expressed how time has aligned for him to be present and effective as a father.

Earl Detrick and L’Jai have joined forces to build a catalog of timeless music. L’Jai tells Art2Lectually, “We’re collaborating to create feel food music with a classic sound, “real music with real instrumentation”-The kind of music that brings happiness and feelings of joy.” The record chimes with original instruments played by Earl Detrick.
